Rizal Park, also referred to as Luneta Park for its resemblance to crescent moon, is well known for its name - the place where Jose Rizal, a writer, poet, and national hero of the Philippines who strived for its independence, got executed. The monument of J.Rizal was erected in the park to honour his devotion to the country with his remains.
